Trilegal and Khaitan & Co have counselled parties on RMZ Group and Colt Data Centre Services’ 50:50 USD1.7 billion joint venture investment in the Indian data centre market.
As part of the transaction, RMZ Group entities will acquire stakes in two data centres, located in New Mumbai and Chennai.
Trilegal advised RMZ Group on structuring the transaction, conducting due diligence on the data centre projects, and drafting, negotiating and finalising the transaction documents.
Partners Sai Krishna Bharathan and Upasana Rao led the corporate transaction and due diligence team, with support from senior associates Saamir Askari and Paulose Abraham, along with associates Vedangini Bisht and Jahanvi Grover.
Partner Monika Bhonsale led the real estate team, while partner Apeksha Mattoo led the labour and employment team.
Khaitan & Co acted for Colt Data Centre Services with the deal team including partners Deepak Jodhani, Abir Sarkar and Neekesh Shetty. Partners Abhiraj Gandhi and Vivek Mimani assisted the team.
RMZ Group’s joint venture with Colt Data Centre Services aims to develop and operate 250MW data centres across India. Fidelity Investments-backed Colt Data Centre Services is a global hyperscale data centre operator, while RMZ Corp is a Bengaluru-based real estate company.
