MCA extends deadline for filing financial statements

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has provided a reprieve to Indian companies by the deadline for filing financial statements under the Companies Act, 2013. This extension shifts the compliance deadline from the to 31 March 2025.

The extension is expected to significantly benefit businesses by reducing administrative pressures and enabling more comprehensive and accurate financial disclosures.

The amendment aims to alleviate the administrative burden on businesses, granting them an additional three months for their financial reporting obligations. This extension is intended to ensure smoother and more accurate compliance with regulatory requirements.

This move aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance corporate governance and promote ease of doing business in India.

The were established on 31 March 2014 and have since been amended a few times. The rules essentially ensure that the reporting by corporations is not only accurate but also remains verifiable by mandating that the records be maintained in their original state electronically.
