Jones Day adds partner to boost corporate bench in Singapore

Jones Day has expanded its corporate practice in Singapore with the hire of M&A lawyer Parveet Singh Gandoak as a partner from King & Spalding’s office in the city-state.

“Parveet has advised on some of the largest cross-border corporate transactions to emerge from South Asia in recent years. His arrival strengthens our team of Singapore-based lawyers who are experienced in international M&A, joint ventures, venture capital and private equity transactions,” said Sushma Jobanputra, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Singapore Office.

Gandoak, who has been practising as an M&A and private equity partner at King & Spalding since 2021, began his legal career as a corporate and securities associate at Dechert in the US in 2006. He has close to two decades of experience advising private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and corporations on M&A deals, joint ventures, restructurings and other corporate transactions.

The Singapore-based corporate lawyer joined King & Spalding as a partner in November 2021 from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he had served as a counsel. Recently, Gandoak advised Bangalore-based local language technology platform VerSe Innovation on its of New York-based digital newsstand Magzter.
