The Association of Corporate Counsel Hong Kong (ACCHK), in collaboration with Debevoise & Plimpton, recently convened in-house counsel for a seminar examining the legal updates under the Trump administration.
Titled Trump Administration 2.0 – What In-House Counsel Should Keep Top of Mind, the session brought together legal and compliance professionals across sectors to assess how shifting US policy priorities may reshape cross-border risk exposure for companies operating in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.
Speakers included Debevoise & Plimpton counsel Philip Rohlik, Robert Dura and Emily Lam, and associate Benjamin Teo.
The discussion provided an overview of the America First investment and trade policy under the Trump administration, alongside updates on the enforcement priorities of the US Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission. Speakers also examined the expanding reach of US sanctions law, inbound and outbound investment restrictions, bulk data regulations, and export controls, and their implications for businesses with regional operations.
