Korean law firm Yulchon has welcomed back IP expert Keejeong Kim as a partner from LIN, where he has served as a partner for four years from 2020.

“Kim’s exceptional expertise in cross-border transactions and his strong international capabilities are key factors in our decision to re-engage him. His global experience will be instrumental in expanding our foreign client base, which aligns with our strategic focus on broadening our international reach,” Doil Son, head of the IP & technology practice at Yulchon told Asia Business Law Journal when asked about the key reasons for the rehire.

Qualified to practice law in both Korea and New York, Kim will focus on managing relationships with foreign clients and on handling cross-border legal issues at Yulchon.

Kim was most recently the head of LIN’s mobility team, and he had a key role in addressing regulatory issues including emission standards, legislative measures to prevent sudden unintended acceleration and other compliance matters. He also represented an automotive parts manufacturer in patent litigations against a domestic vendor.

Earlier in his legal career, Kim served as a public-service judicial officer between 2006 and 2009 before joining Yulchon as an associate. Kim will bring 15 years of experience on cross-border IP advisory and disputes, with a focus on IT and software matters, technology transfer agreements, and regulatory matters in the mobility sector.
