Trilegal has advised placement agent Jefferies on the block trade of equity shares in Bharti Airtel by Indian Continent Investment, raising INR112 billion (USD 1.34 billion) and ranks among the largest such deals in India in 2025 to date.
“A block trade of this scale required swift documentation and close attention to regulatory compliance. We are pleased to have supported our client in achieving a smooth execution within tight timelines,” Trilegal lead partner Albin Thomas told India Business Law Journal.
Thomas led the capital markets team with support from senior associate Sowmya Khandelwal.
Bharti Airtel’s in-house legal team provided guidance on the deal. Indian Continent Investment, a Bharti Airtel promoter, also relied on its in-house team.
Bharti Airtel is an Indian multinational telecommunications company with operations spanning 18 countries across South Asia, Africa and the Channel Islands. The company currently offers 5G, 4G and LTE Advanced services across India.
