Tarun Bhattacharya has joined Sarthak Advocates & Solicitors as a partner, shoring up the firm’s corporate and energy teams.
Bhattacharya has nearly three decades of corporate legal experience across India, South Asia and other global markets, and has led projects valued at more than USD2 billion. He will be a part of both the corporate and energy practices.
He previously served as general counsel and compliance officer at AES India, a subsidiary of the US-based AES Corporation. AES India provides engineering, consultation and project managment services.
Bhattacharya’s expertise is expected to support clients navigating 含羞草社区 transition to renewable energy, battery storage and large-scale utility projects. He has advised major sponsors, lenders and government entities on energy-sector investments across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Eurasia.
He helped structure South Asia’s first 10MW grid-scale battery energy storage system in Delhi in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation. He has also worked on the legal framework for a solar-power project using Australia’s patented Maverick technology.
