Multiple firms advised on Nuveen’s board-recommended cash acquisition of Schroders, valued at GBP9.9 billion (USD13.46 billion).
JSA Advocates & Solicitors advised Nuveen on Indian law aspects. The team comprised lead partner Vikram Raghani, partner Pulkit Sukhramani, principal associate Farah Titina, senior associate Anshuman Sugla, and associates Juan D’Souza and Samika Pachouly.
The transaction is slated to create one of the world’s largest active global asset management platforms, with about USD2.5 trillion in assets under management. The combined group will operate across major financial centres, given its presence in more than 40 markets worldwide.
Nuveen is a global asset manager with about USD1.4 trillion in assets under management. Schroders is an FTSE 100-listed provider of active asset management, advisory and wealth management services, with about USD1.1 trillion in assets under management.
Schroders was advised by Slaughter and May as international legal counsel, while Clifford Chance advised Nuveen as international legal counsel.
