Mihir Rale will be joining Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as a partner and co-head of the digital | TMT practice and will be based at the firm’s Mumbai office.
With more than 23 years of experience, Rale specialises in M&A, legal strategy, corporate governance, regulation and compliance across the technology, data, telecoms and traditional sectors.
Until 2024, he served as general counsel at Star and Disney India, completing a 15-year tenure. He addressed complex issues at the intersection of technology, regulation, competition and IP.
Rale was also co-chair of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) IPR committee and the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) digital media committee. He has also contributed to the FICCI’s M&E and CII’s National Regulatory committees.

CAM’s digital+ practice provides comprehensive, business-focused legal counsel across regulatory, transactional and governance matters in sectors including big tech, AI, media, SaaS, healthtech, and more. The team comprises seven partners and 30 lawyers spread across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.
Rale is expected to join the firm in July.
