Poovayya & Co has advised MetaShot on a INR20 million (USD230,000) investment from the Karnataka Information Technology Venture Capital Fund (KITVEN Fund).
In-house counsel acted for KITVEN, the Karnataka state government’s alternative investment fund, and the deal was structured through the issue of convertible debentures. Poovayya & Co partners Siddhartha George and Harini Sudersan led the transaction team, with the support of senior associate Neytra Nayak and associate Satyajit Nair.
The capital injection is expected to support MetaShot’s growth and market expansion plans. Based in Bengaluru, MetaShot is a brand under gaming startup, Gillidanda Tech, delivering a mixed-reality cricket gaming experience through its flagship product — the MetaShot Smart Bat.
This sensor-enabled bat allows players to physically swing and play cricket shots, which are then mirrored on a TV screen via a connected mobile device. The startup aims to bring a console-like experience to a broader audience through affordable and accessible technology.
Poovayya & Co also advised MetaShot on an earlier INR110 million fundraising round led by Sauce VC, with participation from Sharrp Ventures and Panthera Peak Capital.
