Kennedys has bolstered its insurance practice with the addition of three partners and a team of 16 to enhance service offerings in Melbourne and across Australia.
The firm welcomes partners Nicole Wearne, Mark Attard and Ganga Narayanan, alongside four special counsel, five lawyers, and a support team of seven from Clyde & Co. The team brings expertise in representing local and international clients in various insurance lines and sectors, having previously collaborated at Norton Rose Fulbright before joining Clyde & Co.
Wearne specialises in professional indemnity, management liability, class action defence and coverage claims. She was a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright for 17 years before joining Clyde & Co.
“Kennedys has an extremely strong reputation in both the local and global insurance markets. We are excited to be joining at a time when the firm is looking to strategically expand its insurance offering in Australia and leverage innovation to benefit clients while maintaining its focus on being an employer of choice,” Wearne said.
Attard, with more than three decades of experience, advises Australian and London market clients on professional indemnity and general insurance matters.
Narayanan’s practice covers general and life insurance claims, encompassing personal injury, property damage, medical liability, fraud and non-disclosure claims. Narayanan was also a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright for 17 years before joining Clyde & Co.
This move follows the hiring of Lucinda Lyons in December last year. Lyons, who previously worked with Clyde & Co as a managing partner, was later joined by her team of 12.
