Clyde & Co has strengthened its global aviation practice in the Asia-Pacific with the relocation of partner Jahnavi Ramachandran from the firm’s London office to Singapore.
The decision to move Ramachandran to the Singapore office stems from the growth Clyde & Co has seen in aviation-related matters in various Asian jurisdictions.
“Clyde & Co’s growth in aviation in the Asia-Pacific reflects the region’s rapid market expansion, particularly in emerging economies such as Vietnam and Indonesia, and highgrowth markets including China. As aviation activity accelerates, clients are increasingly seeking specialist support to navigate sustainability requirements, operational resilience and geopolitical complexity,” Kevin Sutherland, a partner and chair of the firm’s global aviation group, told Asia Business Law Journal.
Ramachandran focuses on different types of debt financings, including Japanese operating lease with call option (JOLCO) and pre-delivery payment (PDP) financings, as well as operating leases, restructurings and airport slot financings.
She also advises banks, export credit agencies, lessors, and airlines and operators on the acquisition, financing and leasing of aviation assets such as commercial aircraft, helicopters, engines and airport slots.
