Kaushik Mukherjee has joined IndusLaw as an equity partner in the capital markets practice and will be based out of the Mumbai office, along with his team.
Mukherjee brings more than two decades of extensive experience across capital markets, public M&A, structured finance, real estate project financing and securities advisory.
His career includes leadership roles with prominent law firms such as Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, JSA and White & Case in London. Most recently, he served as president of legal at Indiabulls, where he oversaw significant fundraising transactions, including rights issues, qualified institutional placements (QIPs), and both domestic and international bonds.
Mukherjee has an established track record advising both issuers and underwriters on a wide range of equity and debt issuances. His portfolio includes initial public offerings, QIPs, public and private placements of debentures, as well as international issuances of bonds and infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs).
The team will offer specialised expertise in public mergers and acquisitions managing high-profile takeovers, mergers, and preferential allotments for listed companies across India.
In addition to his capital markets focus, Mukherjee is regarded for his regulatory advisory skills, transaction structuring, and expertise in compliance management related to Reserve Bank of India and National Housing Bank inspections, as well as probes under the Securities and Exchange Board of India.
Mukherjee is a recognised authority in securities law known for advising on landmark transactions, including pioneering InvIT offerings and masala bonds.
