South Korean in-house counsel group, the In-House Counsel Forum (IHCF), has appointed an Australian lawyer with 16 years of experience at global pharmaceutical companies as its new president.

At its annual general meeting on 18 December 2024 at the Shilla Seoul hotel, the IHCF appointed Won-Young Jung, one of the current vice presidents, as its 13th president, to succeed CY Park, who was elected president in 2021.

Jung joined Janssen Korea in 2013, and is now the firm’s senior legal director. Before Janssen, she worked as a legal counsel at GSK for five years, accumulating experience in the global pharmaceutical industry.

Jung is an Australian lawyer who majored in applied linguistics at the University of Sydney and graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales. She will be the third female president of the IHCF when her two-year term begins on 1 January 2025, after Eunice K Kim and Jay Son Yang.

Founded in 1999, the IHCF is the oldest in-house counsel association in Korea with more than 2,400 members.
