Fangda Partners made its first official announcement regarding its maiden overseas office in Singapore, revealing that partners Wang Yingying and Tan Suyin would join Ivy Liu in the Lion City.

This news comes around two months after Liu announced that she would join Fangda Singapore in August.

The newly established branch aims to assist clients in navigating the complexities of international operations as many of the firm’s long-serving clients use the Lion City “as an international hub to expand their operations globally”.

Wang, who will lead the Singapore office as a managing partner, will also be based in Shanghai. She has been a partner at Fangda since 2002.

The dual-qualified lawyer in China and New York specialises in real estate, construction and infrastructure projects. She has 30 years of experience in the legal industry and has advised the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government on the bidding and construction of the Pudong airport’s first phase runway and terminal.

Tan, also based in Beijing, has long been advising Southeast Asia, Indian and Chinese companies in setting up joint ventures, M&A, PE/VC, financing and restructuring. She is qualified in Singapore, New York and the UK.
