Peter & Kim has recruited former secretary-general of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) Deborah Tomkinson as director of corporate strategy and counsel.
“Having this role undertaken from Australia reflects the importance placed by the partnership on continued growth in the Asia-Pacific region and the role that Australia plays in driving that growth. The diversity of the Peter & Kim team across all offices operates to provide a bridge between cultures – Europe and Asia – and Australia is well positioned in this respect,” the firm told Asia Business Law Journal.
Tomkinson will spearhead the global partnership’s strategic initiatives and projects at the firm, leveraging her 12 years of leadership experience with the ACICA. Her previous roles include serving as a council member at the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions, senior associate at Ashurst and senior legal consultant at DLA Piper.
Wolfgang Peter, senior partner at Peter & Kim, said: “Deborah’s expertise and capabilities will enhance Peter & Kim’s integrated global team as we reflect on a successful first five years of operation.”
