Nishant Sogani and Zubin Poovathinkal have been promoted to the role of partner at Chandhiok & Mahajan’s offices in Mumbai and Hyderabad, respectively.
Sogani, who works at the Mumbai office, has more than a decade of experience in restructuring and insolvency, banking and finance, and general corporate matters. He is a trusted adviser to insolvency professionals, banks, financial institutions, and corporate groups. He has also led some of the firm’s most high-stakes mandates.
His expertise includes insolvency resolution, distressed M&A, debt and corporate restructuring, structured finance, and corporate lending.
Poovathinkal, who is based at the firm’s Hyderabad office, has more than 10 years of courtroom experience across trial and appellate levels. He has acted in a wide range of matters, including but not restricted to, commercial arbitration, criminal defence, tax litigation, insolvency proceedings and constitutional law.
The partnership ranks now stand at 18, with women representing 35%.
