DSK Legal has strengthened its presence in South India with the lateral induction of partners Sameena Chatrapathy, Kavita Pancholi and Anu D’ Rose Prabu, along with a team of 22 professionals, to establish the firm’s Chennai office.
“Chennai has been an important market for the firm for several years, with a significant volume of existing work from the region. The expansion allows us to establish a strong on-ground presence, with a primary focus on corporate/M&A, real estate, and disputes work,” said Anand Desai, managing partner at DSK Legal.
The strategic expansion brings together a 14-member corporate practice team and an eight-member real estate team.
In a comparison with other key legal hubs in India, Desai said, “Chennai is home to several large and rapidly growing business groups, making it a strategically important and fast-evolving market comparable to other major commercial hubs in India.”
He adds that DSK Legal sees “strong opportunities across manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, private capital, as well as the real estate and media & entertainment sectors in the region.”
“The expansion was driven by a combination of client demand, availability of the right talent and the firm’s long-term strategic growth plans.”
