Anli Partners has struck twin success, securing approval from the Law Society of Hong Kong as a registered foreign law firm and opens an associate office with local peer CFN Lawyers.
The move strengthens Anli’s capabilities in advising Chinese companies expanding overseas and foreign investors entering the Chinese mainland market.
Currently operating 16 offices worldwide, Anli has overseas branches in countries including Japan, Canada and Dubai.
“Officially establishing the associate office in Hong Kong is not only an important milestone in Anli’s internationalisation strategy, but also a practical step in deepening our foreign-related legal services and responding to the nation’s call for high-level opening-up,” said Wang Qingyou, head and founding partner of Anli, in a press release.
In the release, Bowie Fung, CFN Lawyers founding partner, added: “The professionalism, dedication and team spirit of members at Anli and CFN are the firms’ most valuable assets. The association is only the beginning and there is still a long road ahead.”
The associate office will be led by Lu Yichen, a partner at Anli’s Beijing office. His practice covers commercial disputes and cross-border dispute resolution, with extensive experience in handling disputes related to real estate and construction projects, cases involving both criminal and civil issues, domestic and international trade, and investment and financing.
Anli said the two firms had already been interacting for more than a decade. They will integrate resources to deepen their practices in areas, including cross-border dispute resolution, corporate investment and financing, wealth management and succession planning, serving clients in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and expanding into international markets.
Founded 25 years ago, Anli focuses on high-end commercial legal services. Its practice spans corporate matters, dispute resolution, M&A, real estate, and tax and finance.
CFN, established in 2013, has extensive experience in corporate and commercial matters, capital markets and financing, litigation and dispute resolution, cross-border arbitration, corporate regulation and compliance, family trusts and offices, and intellectual property.
