Adnan Sundra & Low (ASL) has deepened its disputes bench with the addition of Kevin Prakash as a new equity partner, who is set to lead the firm’s new construction and infrastructure disputes practice.
“By combining our existing strengths with a leading construction and infrastructure disputes practice, our objective is to become a go-to firm for complex, cross-border matters in the construction and infrastructure sectors, ASL’s joint managing partner,” Rodney D’Cruz told Asia Business Law Journal.
Prakash, who previously worked as a partner at Shook Lin & Bok Malaysia and Mohanadass Partnership, founded his own law firm specialising in dispute resolution before joining ASL. He is also a member of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) Panel of Arbitrators and Adjudicators.
Called to the Malaysian Bar in 1988, he is involved in trial and appellate matters, and is experienced in various disputes, including the corporate and commercial, contractual, civil and shipping sectors. In addition, his primary area of practice centres on building contracts and construction disputes.
D’Cruz said the expansion of ASL’s dispute resolution practice was part of the firm’s ongoing plan to enhance their existing capabilities with specialist areas, leading to comprehensive legal solutions for our clients.
In February this year, the addition of Sudharsanan Thillainathan, Dawn Wong and Tania Edward was part of this disputes practice expansion. Thillainathan, who brings more than 25 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration joined ASL from Steven Thiru & Sudhar Partnership, where he co-headed the firm with Steven Thiruneelakandan.
Wong and Edward served as partners at Steven Thiru & Sudhar Partnership for more than six years.
