K&K Advocates has bolstered its corporate group with the appointment of Dezi Kirana as an of counsel, bringing more than 30 years of expertise in corporate practice to the firm in Indonesia.

Justisiari P Kusumah, the managing partner at K&K, told Asia Business Law Journal that the hiring of Kirana was consistent with the firm’s plan towards being a full-service law firm.

“During the past few years, we have seen more and more inquiries from existing IP and litigation clients expressing their interest to engage us for their corporate matters. With the appointment of Kirana, our short-term plan is that we hope to be able to capture this work and provide more assistance to our existing clients,” said Kusumah.

Kirana is a senior Indonesian lawyer specialising in M&A, investments, project financing and general corporate matters. She began her career as an associate at Soemadipradja & Taher in 1993 and later held a partner position at the firm as well as at Linda Widyati and Partners, Clifford Chance’s associate firm in Indonesia, until 2017. Additionally, she worked as counsel at Clifford Chance’s Singapore office from 2013 to 2017.

At K&K, Kirana will be working closely with partner Danny Kobrata, who leads the corporate & technology team and oversees the corporate, commercial IP, and TMT practice groups.

“We have seen steady growth in our corporate practice led by Kobrata, and in the long run, we hope to further broaden the corporate group’s practice areas to include energy and resources, as well as project financing, with Kirana’s extensive experience,” said Kusumah.
