Legal Solutions, Kennedys’ joint venture law firm in Singapore, has added Kevin Tan as a director, specialising in commercial litigation and international arbitration.

Julian Wallace and Kevin Kwek, joint Singapore managing partners at Kennedys, said: “Kevin’s arrival significantly bolsters our Singapore disputes practice, and enhances our ability to provide specialist expertise in energy and commodities arbitrations. Attracting a senior lawyer of Kevin’s calibre and experience is an exciting development for our Singapore office, and highlights our commitment to investing in our future and providing best-in-class support for both our local and cross-border clients.”

Tan moves from Rajah & Tann, one of Singapore’s biggest law firms. He has experience in commercial disputes across various sectors including commodities, energy and technology. His work spans multiple domains such as joint venture disputes, oil and gas matters, shipping litigation and cross-border arbitration involving shareholder conflicts, investor-state disputes, fraud and employment issues.

Beyond his litigation experience, Tan is also involved in the global arbitration community. He is the vice-chair of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Singapore Arbitration Group, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an arbitrator for leading institutions such as the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

In April, Kennedys hired Mark Errington to lead the firm’s property, construction and energy division in the region.
