Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon has appointed Setia Law managing director Danny Ong as senior counsel at the Opening of the Legal Year 2026 in Singapore on 12 January.
The title of senior counsel is conferred on lawyers in recognition of their skill, legal expertise and longstanding contributions to the profession.
“This recognition reflects the collective effort of the Setia Law team, and the confidence placed in a young firm that set out to do things differently, but do them properly,” said Ong.
Ong founded Setia Law with Yam Wern-Jhien in 2023. Before that, he was a partner at Rajah & Tann from 2008 to 2023, during which he served as deputy head of the firm’s dispute resolution practice and was an executive committee member.
