Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has hired Manan Lahoty, capital markets practice head at IndusLaw with his team of eight partners and 40 associates in India.
The partners include Abhiroop Lahiri, Abhyuday Bhotika, Anshul Roy, Manshoor Nazki, Priyadarshini Rao, Puneet Passi, Ravi Dubey and Vishal Yaduvanshi. Lahiri, Nazki, Dubey and Yaduvanshi had previously moved with Lahoty when he left Luthra and Luthra to work at IndusLaw in 2019, where he was also joined by 12 associates.
Commenting on the team’s departure, IndusLaw founding partners Gaurav Dani and Suneeth Katarki said, “While it is a loss, we wish the team well. In the industry, all major firms including IndusLaw are fighting for talent and we are having to deal with it like other firms. We look forward to maintaining a cordial relationship and collaborating in the future.”
Yash J Ashar, recently promoted to senior partner since 1 April 2024, will continue to be an integral and core part of the capital markets partners bench at CAM. He will initially support Lahoty with the transition.
Lahoty is known for his expertise in the capital markets. In 2023, he became a member of IndusLaw’s management committee, which includes the founding partners. He started his career at Amarchand Mangaldas in 2002, moved to Luthra in 2006, and later worked at Shearman & Sterling in 2007. In 2009, he made it back to Luthra as a partner and stayed with the firm for a decade.
Lahoty is qualified to practise in both England and Wales, and India. He advises leading domestic and international investment banks on securities law matters, including pre-offering corporate restructuring and corporate governance.
