A&O Shearman has appointed Sarah Wilson as the office managing partner for Bangkok, effective 1 April 2025.
Wilson told Asia Business Law Journal that Thailand was well-positioned to lead the energy transition, backed by a sophisticated market and strong corporate players. “There is depth and sophistication within the market with multiple strong Thai corporates and financial institutions. Thailand is also geographically very well-connected in Asean and has a well-developed energy sector,” said Wilson.
Wilson succeeds Suparerk Auychai, who is retiring from the helm and will work with the firm as a consultant. Auychai is also the head of the firm’s corporate practice in Thailand, and Noparat Kaewsringarm will take over the role.
Wilson joined Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) in 2007 and became a partner in 2019, specialising in project finance transactions in the power and infrastructure sectors. She also advises on broader financing transactions in Thailand.
