Zhong Lun Law Firm has continued to bolster its ranks following the onboarding of dispute resolution partner Tony Chow in February, with the recent appointments of partners Li Qianfei, Zhao Yang and Zhu Zheng, as well as regional partner Zhao Qin. The four join the firm’s Nanjing, Hong Kong, 齿颈’补苍 and Shanghai offices, respectively, further strengthening its capabilities in dispute resolution, investment, financing and capital markets.

Li brings a dual background in military legal service and private practice, having served in the armed forces for nearly 20 years. Between October 2012 and March 2019, he acted as a military lawyer.
In 2019, he joined the Nanjing office of Dacheng Law Offices, where he was subsequently promoted to senior partner. His practice focuses on commercial criminal defence, corporate criminal risk prevention, defence in duty-related crime cases, tax structuring and tax-related disputes. He has represented clients in several high-profile criminal cases with significant social impact, including the Nanjing Medical University homicide case and the Jiangsu Xiangshui “3.21” major explosion case.
Being qualified in England and Wales and in Hong Kong, Zhao Yang focuses on cross-border debt financing and restructurings. Prior to joining Zhong Lun, he served as counsel at Dechert, based in Beijing and Hong Kong. Earlier in his career, he practised in the London office of White & Case and the Hong Kong office of Kirkland & Ellis, and was seconded to HSBC’s London office during his time at White & Case.
Zhao Yang advises private equity funds, credit funds and corporate clients on matters including cross-border acquisition finance, fund-level financing, structured finance, direct lending, and restructuring and special situations financing. He has represented Blackstone Capital on multiple leveraged finance transactions, including the acquisitions of Shya Hsin Packaging and Global Sources.
Prior to joining Zhong Lun, Zhu was a senior partner at AllBright Law Offices’ 齿颈’补苍 office. Her practice focuses on securities and capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance, cross-border investment and international arbitration.
Zhu’s clients include government authorities, multinational corporations and Chinese state-owned enterprises. She has advised several well-known multinationals on their investments in China, including Siemens, Samsung, Bosch, Coca-Cola and Ford. On the outbound side, she has acted on overseas investment projects spanning dozens of jurisdictions, including the US, Australia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Zhao Qin joins from Shanghai-based Huaxia Huihong Law Firm, where he was previously a senior partner. He specialises in dispute resolution, covering commercial crime, litigation, arbitration and intellectual property. He has extensive experience in criminal defence and corporate criminal risk prevention, particularly in cases involving commercial, economic, financial and duty-related offences.
Regional partner is a title introduced by Zhong Lun in February 2025. According to the firm’s statement, the new designation is intended to respond to a dynamic market environment and to provide a development platform for lawyers demonstrating strong capabilities and high growth potential.
