Wilson Sonsini has recruited Chu Yang as a corporate partner at its Hong Kong branch to reinforce the Asian team, following the departure of talent.

Chu brings 17 years of experience, specialising in capital markets, corporate matters, M&A, and PE/VC. Before joining Wilson Sonsini, he was a partner at Davis Polk, where he advised underwriters and issuers on major Hong Kong IPOs such WuXi XDC and Youran Dairy. Prior to that, he was an associate at Slaughter and May.

Douglas Clark, managing partner of Wilson Sonsini, said, “Bringing on a talented practitioner like Yang — who is highly regarded by enterprise clients, banks and across the market — will further enhance our capabilities as deal activity continues to accelerate.”

Just last month, Winfield Lau and Ouyang Dan, who were based at the Hong Kong branch, joined Baker McKenzie FenXun. Wilson Sonsini’s Hong Kong office now has three partners – Chen Weiheng, Draco Ng and Chu Yang.
