White & Case has hired Alex Elser as a partner in Sydney to strengthen its global M&A practice, private capital industry group, and life sciences and healthcare industry group.
She joins after more than seven years at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), where she most recently served as a partner in the firm’s private equity practice.
“Alex’s arrival marks a significant step in the continued expansion of our Australian and Asia-Pacific practice,” Brendan Quinn, a partner and leader of the Asia-Pacific region at White & Case, said. “Her track record advising key private equity sponsors adds significant depth to our team advising global clients investing into, and out of, Australia.”
Elser brings more than 20 years of experience in private equity and M&A, having advised leading firms such as Blackstone. Last year, she advised on the AUD4 billion (USD2.8 billion) sale of a 70% stake in bus operator Kinetic to PE company TPG.
