Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advised Japanese private equity firm Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko (NSSK) on the formation of its NSSK IV Series Funds, securing total commitments of JPY250 billion (USD1.5 billion).
The global team at Simpson Thacher counselled to NSSK, advising on regulatory and compliance matters. The team included partners David Azcue, who co-heads the firm’s private funds practice in Japan, Adam Furber, co-head of the Asia offices and head of the Asia investment funds practice, and Makiko Harunari, head of the Asia banking and credit practice.
The NSSK Series IV Funds were more than twice oversubscribed, attracting commitments from more than 100 institutional investors worldwide. The fund offering closed on 31 March 2026.
