Simmons & Simmons has strengthened its Asia employment team with Jennifer Tam joining the firm as a partner in Hong Kong effective from 6 May 2025.

“Despite being one of the market-leading practices, we want to continue to enhance the expertise of the Hong Kong employment team, particularly in relation to employment litigation and employment investigations, where we are seeing increasing client demand,” Wendy Wong, partner and head of Simmons & Simmons’ Asia employment group, told Asia Business Law Journal.

Tam was previously a long-serving lawyer at Mayer Brown in Hong Kong, where she spent 17 years, including five as a partner. Following the December 2024 split between Mayer Brown and Johnson Stokes & Master (JSM), she continued her partnership at JSM, until her move to Simmons & Simmons.

Tam’s practice spans high-stakes employment litigation, discrimination and harassment matters and data privacy issues.

On the advisory front, Tam will support Simmons & Simmons services on workforce restructuring, internal investigations, HR advisory and enforcement of post-termination restrictions.

“In addition to employment litigation and employment investigations, we are seeing increasing demand for support in relation to redundancies and post-termination restrictions,” said Wong.
