SGLA Law Firm has acquired four local law firms in Beijing, Guangdong and Tianjin as part of an expansion plan to establish branches in the capital and Shenzhen, while bolstering an existing office in Tianjin.
CSC Partners will merge into SGLA becoming its Beijing office, with partner Sun Xiaoying named as the branch director.
Zaxus Law Office and Kingo Partners & Attorneys will merge to form SGLA’s new Shenzhen office, bringing together nearly 300 employees. Leading the new Shenzhen office will be Li Yuanyong, the director of Zaxus.
The establishment of the Beijing and Shenzhen offices is currently underway and expected to be completed within the year.
SGLA has expanded its Tianjin office through the acquisition of King & Ray Law Firm, leading to the office workforce growing from 16 to more than 100 employees.
Han Deyun, chairman of the national management committee at SGLA, said the acquisition would enhance the firm’s influence and competitiveness in Tianjin and in the Bohai Economic Rim.
