Reed Smith has made a push to grow its financial services capabilities in Asia with the hiring of partners Tim Beech and Regina Lui to the firm’s Singapore and Hong Kong offices, respectively.
Prajakt Samant, Reed Smith’s Asia-Pacific managing partner, told Asia Business Law Journal: “In response to client demand, we are now focused on strategically expanding the practice in Asia by bringing in top talent to ensure we can support our clients on their most complex matters in the region and across the globe.”
Beech, who was formerly a co-managing partner of A&O Shearman’s Singapore office and led its Asia-Pacific corporate trust and agency team, joins Reed Smith in the Lion City. With nearly 25 years of experience, Beech has experience in the corporate trustee and agency space, advising across a full suite of debt capital markets transactions. His practice spans corporate and institutional debt, regulatory capital, equity-linked instruments, securitisations infrastructure and project finance.
Lui, previously an of counsel at A&O Shearman in Hong Kong and a former trainee at Reed Smith’s London office, returns to the firm as a partner. With more than a decade of experience, she brings expertise in advising corporate trustees and agents on debt capital markets and loan financing matters, with a focus on structured and project finance, securitisations and post-issuance restructuring.
