Rajah & Tann Singapore has reorganised its disputes practice, with deputy managing partner Kelvin Poon, SC, taking over as regional head of dispute resolution from Francis Xavier, SC and Avinash Pradhan appointed head of international arbitration.

The firm has also organised its disputes team of more than 200 lawyers into four core specialist practice groups: banking and financial, commercial and corporate, employment and private client.

Disa Sim, Vikram Nair, Jonathan Yuen and Mark Cheng will head the banking and financial, commercial and corporate, employment and private client practice groups, respectively.

“The reorganisation positions our lawyers for better, more effective engagement by clients. The groupings represent key areas of our disputes offerings that have garnered strong recognition for our subject matter knowledge and expertise,” Rajah & Tann Singapore managing partner Ng Kim Beng told Asia Business Law Journal.

“This is not a new approach for us; our dedicated fraud, asset recovery and investigations practice is an early forerunner and since its establishment, has enjoyed strong growth not just in mandates but also talent acquisition.”
