Trilegal’s competition practice head and partner Nisha Kaur Uberoi has joined JSA and has brought her team of more than 25 lawyers, including partners Harshita Singh Parmar and Pranav Satyam.
“[As] an inclusive and equitable platform, JSA’s professional structure was a big draw,” said Uberoi, who will chair JSA’s competition practice.
Uberoi said she looked forward to working with the 35-strong team, with equity partner Vaibhav Choukse, and partners Ela Bali, Pranav and Harshita “to further consolidate our competition law presence, achieve new heights and deliver exceptional results”.
With more than two decades of experience, Uberoi previously worked as the national head of the competition law practice at Trilegal. Prior to that she also led the competition practice at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and was the co-head of the competition practice at AZB & Partners.
Currently, Uberoi leads one of India’’s largest competition law teams and is widely regarded for her extensive expertise in merger control, cartels, abuse of dominance, and the digital economy. She has represented clients before the Competition Commission of India, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, and the Supreme Court.
The addition of Uberoi and her team comes after recent significant JSA hires. In June, partners Iqbal Khan and Ambarish, along with a 20-lawyer team, left Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. On 1 July, partner Padmaja Kaul and her three-member team parted ways with IndusLaw.
