Mohammad Kamran has left Nishith Desai Associates (NDA) to join Resolüt Partners to head its New Delhi office, and be a partner in the firm’s international dispute and investigations practice.
His move comes months after Ashish Kabra left his role as head of the international dispute resolution and investigations practice at NDA to take up the same position at Resolüt Partners.
Kamran told India Business Law Journal, “Ashish leads the international dispute resolution and investigations practice that requires him to move between jurisdictions and he continues to do so.
“Ashish and I have worked closely at NDA for more than a decade, so there is a strong foundation of trust and a shared understanding. While there may be a change in platform, the working relationship is very much the same in terms of values and approach.
“In many ways, this is a continuation of that relationship, but in a setting that gives us room to build. Together, we will continue to focus on achieving the highest quality outcomes for our clients at Resolüt.”With more than a decade of experience, Kamran advises multinational corporations, sovereign-backed entities, private equity funds and Indian promoters on complex disputes, investigations and regulatory matters.
“My responsibilities span client-facing work as well as firm-building: managing key relationships, ensuring seamless co-ordination with other offices, hiring and mentoring talent, etc,” Kamran told IBLJ on his role as head of the New Delhi office.
“The Delhi office is the firm’s second base in India, alongside Mumbai. Resolut has a strong transactional practice across private equity, M&A, listed securities, investment funds and private credit.”
His practice encompasses commercial litigation before 含羞草社区 highest courts, international arbitrations under leading institutional rules, and cross-border enforcement proceedings. He has also led internal investigations, advised on crisis management, and represented clients in regulatory and business crime matters, earning recognition in leading legal directories for his expertise in disputes.“After more than 11 years at Nishith Desai Associates, this was in many ways the most natural transition for me,” said Kamran on his move.
“Resolut Partners aligns perfectly with the kind of work, the clients and, most importantly, the values that have shaped my professional journey. I am looking forward to building the team in Delhi and to the work ahead.”
