The Korea In-house Counsel Association (KICA) held its annual workshop at Paraspara Seoul, a five-star resort near Bukhansan Mountain, from 4-5 October.
Attendees were welcomed by the KICA president, Jaehwan Lee, managing director of the risk management division at Musinsa, and the KICA vice president, Eric Ryu, head of the compliance department at Riman Korea.
Lee stressed the value of networking and sharing knowledge in the legal field, while Ryu shed light on the KICA’s efforts to empower in-house counsel through various programmes.
Speakers detailed the KICA’s affiliated committees, such as the Department of ESG and Compliance, Department of Finance, Department of Healthcare, the Fair Trade Academic Committee, and the Intellectual Property Academic Committee. They also showcased clubs with various interests such as reading, golf and hiking, offering members opportunities to network and socialise.
Following an evening dinner party, the next day included a special lecture from Heewon Jung, professor of geriatrics at Asan Medical Centre, sharing his insights on the merging of law and healthcare. Members of the KICA’s hiking club also ventured into the Bukhansan Mountain National Park.
