Kanika Chugh has been appointed managing partner at SKV Law Offices, succeeding Shri Venkatesh, who will continue in the role of founding partner and mentor.
Chugh, who was previously a partner and has been with SKV Law Offices since 2018, told India Business Law Journal, “Stepping into the role of managing partner is a privilege and a responsibility I carry with great care.”
Venkatesh, who will continue in a broader mentorship role, told IBLJ, “My focus going forward will be on expanding SKV’s presence and deepening our roots in key markets, particularly with the strategic launch of our new office in Mumbai.
“This transition allows me to concentrate fully on aligning our services with the specific needs of our clients while continuously striving to elevate the standard and delivery of our legal solutions.”
As managing partner, Chugh said her immediate priority would be to anchor the firm’s expansion into key strategic markets. “I am focused on strengthening internal systems and streamlining processes to ensure that our service delivery remains seamless across practices and jurisdictions.”
As Chugh is preparing to build SKV as a pan-India firm, she says, “I see SKV emerging as a destination for complex, cutting-edge work in both litigation and regulatory spaces, with technology and innovation as integral enablers.
“I want SKV to be a firm that clients trust not just for legal solutions, but for strategic insight in navigating a fast-changing business and regulatory landscape.”
