Jones Day has beefed up its global disputes practice with the addition of Matthew Critchley, former head of the commercial litigation team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth. He is joined by Alicia Salvo and Brendon Clarke, who both have worked alongside him at the firm.

The trio have been appointed as partners and will be based at Jones Day’s Melbourne office.

Critchley has represented clients in business disputes involving financial services, corporate governance, technology projects, insolvency matters and shareholder issues.

Salvo specialises in insolvency and banking litigation, including large-scale fraud, urgent injunctions, freezing orders and asset tracing investigations. She also advises insolvency practitioners, landlords, financiers, corporate boards and creditors on high-stakes restructurings, debt recovery and formal insolvency arrangements.

As for Clarke, he advises on disputes and regulatory investigations involving in-depth forensic investigation and analysis. He particularly focuses on matters in the financial services and technology sectors.

“The arrival of these three talented partners further strengthens our ability to serve our clients with respect to their domestic and cross-border business disputes in Australia,” Chris Lovrien, Jones Day’s partner-in-charge of Australia, said.
