Jingtian & Gongcheng Law Firm opened its Chongqing office on 19 December 2025, marking its 11th nationwide and second branch in southwest China, following the establishment of its Chengdu site in 2012.

At the opening ceremony, Zhao Yang, chair of the firm’s management committee, said: “The Chongqing office will directly address the practical legal needs of local enterprises as they grow. Through efficient collaboration with our Beijing headquarters and offices in the Yangtze River Delta and the Greater Bay Area, combined with the Chengdu office’s early presence in southwest China, we aim to provide comprehensive legal support that brings together an international perspective and deep local insight.”

The Chongqing office is headed by partner Matthew Ching, who was previously based in Beijing and Shanghai, and has a team of 10 partners, including Lyu Jun, Zeng Fanbo and Peng Song.

Lyu previously served as a senior partner at Tahota Law Firm, focusing on real estate and construction, finance and corporate legal services.
