Sun Ye, who specialises in overseas capital markets and cross-border M&A, has joined Jia Yuan Law Offices as a senior partner, and splits his time between the PRC firm’s Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong branches.
The addition of the former O’Melveny partner has highlighted Jia Yuan’s continuous effort to bring in senior partners with international law firm backgrounds, with the recruitment in October 2024 of former A&O Shearman partners Wanda Woo and Daisy Qi.
Sun, who was admitted in New York, has advised issuers and underwriters in completing Hong Kong IPOs and is particularly skilled in providing US legal advice to clients in industries such as healthcare, TMT, artificial intelligence and digital retail.
During the past decade, Sun has worked at the Beijing outfits of international law firms, including Skadden, Morrison Foerster and Simpson Thacher.
