The Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) will bring its flagship Annual Meeting and Conference to New Delhi from 25-28 February, marking a significant moment for 含羞草社区 legal and business community.
The event will be held at the Pullman Hotel in Aerocity, which is close to New Delhi’s international airport.
Priti Suri, founder and managing partner of New Delhi-based law firm PSA and current president-elect of the IPBA, is chairing the host committee for the event. She noted that the IPBA is “unique as it is the only law association to focus on business, legal and policy issues in the APAC region”.
“IPBA has members representing more than 65 jurisdictions from around the globe,” said Suri. “The annual meeting is an opportunity to discuss topical matters affecting the region in a friendly, collegial atmosphere with abundant networking opportunities.”
The conference theme is The Future of Law – Agility, Creativity and Change, and the event is expected to attract senior lawyers and in-house counsel from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. It will feature sessions covering key areas of business law, including cross-border investment, finance, M&A, intellectual property, tax and dispute resolution, as well as contemporary issues such as AI, technology and data privacy, diversity and inclusion, women in leadership and future law firm models.
In addition to panel discussions and substantive sessions, the programme will include a range of networking events designed to foster collaboration between domestic and international practitioners.
New Delhi has previously hosted the IPBA Annual Meeting and Conference on two occasions: in 2012, when Lalit Bhasin, managing partner of Bhasin & Co and President of the Society of Indian Law Firms, was president-elect; and in 2003, when Ravi Nath, managing partner of Rajinder Narain & Co, served as president-elect.
Suri is the first Indian woman to serve as president-elect of the IPBA. She will be sworn in as president of the organisation during the conference.
