Georgiou Partnership has brought onboard Wilson Sung, a former of counsel at Jones Day’s Hong Kong branch, as a special counsel.
Sung, who worked at Jones Day for 24 years, told China Business Law Journal: “I hope to try a different work model and explore new challenges after staying at Jones Day for a long time.”
He added that his decision to join Georgiou Partnership was driven by the firm’s focus on dispute resolution, a field that aligns with his expertise, as well as his longstanding friendship with founder, Phillip Georgiou, a former Jones Day colleague.
With years of experience as an external lawyer and working in-house for CITIC Securities in Tianjin, he specialises in representing clients in litigation and arbitration cases related to joint ventures, finance, intellectual property and real estate development projects.
Georgiou founded Georgiou Partnership in 2024. Prior to this, he co-founded another law firm, GPS Legal but left in April last year. Georgiou had also worked at Baker McKenzie, Jones Day and Baker Botts.
