The Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) International has named Pui-Ki Emmanuelle Ta as its third secretary-general, becoming the first non-Korean to take up the post, succeeding Sue Hyun Lim (2018-2021) and Steve Kim (2022-2025).
Seung Wha Chang, chairman of KCAB International, said: “I am delighted to welcome Pui-Ki as our new secretary-general. With her leadership for the secretariat, I strongly believe KCAB International will provide top-quality global services for the Asian arbitration community and beyond.”
Ta, whose new role is effective from 1 April 2025 until 2028, brings more than 20 years of experience as an international arbitration counsel, most notably 15 years at the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), working at both the Paris headquarters and the Hong Kong office as a deputy counsel and as a counsel, respectively.
KCAB International said Ta had handled more than 1,000 cases during her tenure at the ICC, with a particular focus on Asia.
