Liu, has been practising for more than 20 years, is a specialist in capital markets, and has extensive experience with IPOs and bond issuances.
His representative cases include Hong Kong’s second de-SPAC transaction involving a merger between Aquila Acquisition Corporation and ZG Group, in which he counselled the underwriters. He was also the lead counsel to the underwriters in Supcon Technology’s IPO on the SIX Swiss Exchange, which raised USD565 million.
“His rich understanding of US and Hong Kong capital markets will be instrumental in advising our clients and structuring innovative cross-border deals,” said Eric Chow, managing partner of the Hong Kong firm.
Before joining Eric Chow & Co, Liu was a partner at A&O Shearman and he had practised at Sullivan & Cromwell. The Hong Kong firm’s latest recruitment move comes around a month after former senior lawyer Frank Fu, also from A&O Shearman, joined the firm.
