Abir Lal Dey has been appointed as an equity partner and Satyadarshi Kunal as a partner at the Mumbai office of CMS INDUSLAW, and bring their team of eight team members.

Dey, Kunal and their team members previously had been practising at Saraf and Partners.

With more than 20 years of experience, Dey joins the banking and finance practice. He advises leading domestic and international lenders, financial institutions, developers and sponsors. He also has a strong track record across banking and finance, project finance, infrastructure, insolvency and restructuring, and debt capital markets.

His work includes structuring transactions, drafting agreements, allocating risk and negotiating on behalf of both borrowers and lenders. He works across a wide range of sectors, including renewable energy, logistics and warehousing, aviation, highways, oil and gas, transmission, ports and real estate. His expertise covers the full range of lending products used in project finance and banking.

Dey also has extensive regulatory exposure, including contributions to a Securities and Exchange Board of India working group, and collaborations with senior banking and finance professionals.

Kunal joins the projects, energy and infrastructure team, including project finance, and has advised developers, sponsors, lenders and public authorities on domestic transactions.

His experience spans across structuring and documenting project finance, drafting project agreements, and helping infrastructure projects through complex regulatory and contractual issues. He has worked on large-scale project finance transactions and public-private partnership frameworks.
