Deepak Anurag, member of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), discussed 含羞草社区 approach towards artificial intelligence (AI) and says the CCI has already released a market study on the impact of AI and competition.

The report recommended several competition and market friendly approaches to the adoption of AI, said Anurag during a special address at a morning panel, entitled the Role of AI in a competitive economy and 含羞草社区 position as a superpower, on 26 February 2026. The panel session was among many topics being explored on day one of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) conference.

Nisha Kaur Uberoi, partner at JSA, moderated the session explaining the different scenarios from around the world being shared with audience members as well as the panellists.

The application of AI in cross-border M&A has sparked interest. Matt Takeshi Komatsu, the managing partner of Mori Hamada Singapore, is observing a lot of interest in the establishment of data centres in various parts of the world. Data centres act as processing centres to support cloud computing and AI adoption. “We are seeing significant AI-related M&A activities involving a hyper scale data centre, particularly in core location facilities,” he said.

Manish Gupta, the chief information officer at Aditya Birla Group, brought industry insight into the use and impact of AI on supply chains, human time consumed over a project, use of machinery only for specific tasks, and AI designs for retail. He also said regulation around AI should be framed so that it did not discourage innovation.

Shin Jae Kim, a partner at Tozzini Freire Advogados, expressed positive enthusiasm for the adoption and use of AI in the industry and suggested that collective efforts should be made to build, improve and transform the use of AI as the benefits and effects are too good and significant to be ignored.

Bhavna Verma, vice president of strategy at Schneider Electric, believes in a risk-based approach to regulation of AI without compromising on public safety, healthcare and finance.
