Jakarta-based Batavia Advocatorum (B.Av) has grown its dispute resolution practice with the onboarding of litigation partner Raditya Anugerah Titus, who has joined from Makarim & Taira S, one of Indonesia’s oldest law firms.
Syafrullah Hamdi, the managing partner of B.Av in Jakarta, told Asia Business Law Journal that the firm sought to strengthen its market position through Titus’s strong litigation and dispute resolution capabilities, including international arbitration.
“As a former senior litigation lawyer at one of the most reputable law firms in Indonesia, he has been extensively handling many high-profile cases, which we believe can attract more top-tier global clients to the firm,” said Hamdi.
Before joining B.Av, Titus had practised as a senior associate at Makarim & Taira S for nine years, including a three-month secondment to Drew & Napier, one of Singapore’s largest law firms. With more than 14 years of legal experience, the litigator has worked on both national and international litigation proceedings – both civil and criminal – representing domestic and international clients ranging from financial institutions to manufacturers and energy companies.
Hamdi told Asia Business Law Journal that Titus would focus on expanding the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution department, drawing on his expertise in handling criminal litigation, employment-related matters, bankruptcy and delay of payment as well as domestic and international arbitration cases.
With the addition of Titus, B.Av now has three partners together with a team of two of counsels and seven associates.
