Indonesian law firm Bagus Enrico & Partners bolsters its corporate and commercial practice with the addition of partner Ujang Suhirta.
Suhirta joins the firm after spending 14 years as senior legal counsel at Donggi Senoro LNG, a company engaged in the processing and export of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
He has more than 30 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, and specialises in the energy and natural resources industry, with a particular focus on oil and gas, and LNG.
Bagus Buwono, managing partner at Bagus Enrico & Partners, said Suhirta’s arrival represented an important milestone in the firm’s development of an energy practice.
“Ujang adds meaningful depth to the firm’s corporate and commercial practice and supports its long-term plans in this fast-evolving space. His arrival also marks an important first step towards building a dedicated energy practice, particularly in oil and gas, renewable energy, energy transition initiatives, and sustainability-focused projects,” he told Asia Business Law Journal.
Buwono added that the firm intended to further expand its energy team by recruiting lawyers with expertise in corporate transactions, project development and regulatory matters in the energy and natural resources sector.
“This expansion reflects the firm’s response to Indonesia’s accelerating energy transition and the growing need for practical, business-focused legal advice,” he said.
