The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Singapore hosted a lunch discussion on managing corporate governance risks, facilitated by Khaitan & Co in collaboration with FTI Consulting. The event took place on Nanson Road on 8 April 2025 and brought together numerous legal professionals keen to deepen their understanding and strategies in corporate governance.
The session was moderated by Michael Cullen, senior managing director and leader of Asia forensic and litigation consulting at FTI. Panel speakers included Barbara Tsai, assistant general counsel and Asia head of compliance at Microsoft; Manavendra Mishra, partner at Khaitan & Co; Susanah Naushad, counsel at Khaitan & Co; and Andrew Macintosh, senior managing director at FTI Consulting.
The event focused on the identification and mitigation of risks that have emerged in the wake of recent, high-profile governance setbacks in India. The panel also delved into issues ranging from financial fraud to boardroom disputes. This discussion was supplemented by case study examples of governance failures, which highlighted the critical risks that could affect operations and profitability in India.
The panel also emphasised building robust compliance systems, improving transparency and resolving leadership conflicts to fortify businesses against evolving threats.
David Sullivan, ACC Singapore president and legal director for Asia-Pacific at WPP, shared his comments on the event. “Such a fascinating discussion from a phenomenal group of panellists,” said Sullivan.
“A brilliant event. Thank you, Khaitan & Co, and FTI Consulting – we love seeing our partners working together to bring such insightful and compelling content to our members.”
