Zhong Lun Law Firm has recruited Tony Chow as a partner at its Hong Kong office, further reinforcing its capabilities in dispute resolution in the city.
Before joining Zhong Lun, Chow led the contentious insolvency practice at Freshfields’ Hong Kong office for two years, following a tenure as director of restructuring and insolvency at King & Wood Mallesons in the city.
He focuses on corporate distress, debt restructuring, liquidation and bankruptcy. He has advised investors, private equity funds and listed companies on complex restructurings, insolvency proceedings, shareholder disputes, and cross-border litigation and arbitration cases.
Qualified to practise in both New York and Hong Kong, Chow can represent his clients as a solicitor advocate in Hong Kong courts and international arbitration proceedings.
He advised on China Evergrande Group’s restructuring of more than USD23 billion in offshore liabilities and winding up proceedings, as well as on HNA Aviation’s investment in Hong Kong Airlines as part of the carrier’s USD6.2 billion debt restructuring.
Other legal professionals from international firms have recently joined Zhong Lun’s Hong Kong office, including partner Renee Xiong and counsel Alan Wong from Sidley Austin, and partner Wu Hao from Clifford Chance.
